Travel arrangements commence on the day before the tour departs.
Your adventure begins with a flight to the beautiful city of Adelaide. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure.
Ask us about a range of optional activities available or simply take a stroll along the newly redeveloped Riverbank precinct or go shopping at nearby Rundle Mall.
❱ 1 night: Grosvenor Hotel or similar
Adelaide travellers will be met at home and transferred to the Central Bus Station to join the tour. Interstate travellers will be picked up from the Grosvenor Hotel.
We begin our journey along the Eyre Peninsula today, stopping for refreshments at Port Wakefield before continuing to Port Augusta for lunch. From Port Augusta we travel down the Peninsula to Whyalla, South Australia’s largest provincial city. Whyalla was originally known as Hammocks Hill until 1916 and is South Australia’s fourth most populated city. We enjoy a short tour to see the magnificent new jetty on the foreshore before dinner.
❱ 1 night: Alexander Motel or Sundowner Hotel Motel
After breakfast this morning we travel to Iron Knob. The area was pegged out by BHP in 1897 and due to the purity of the ore which was 60% iron, became the biggest iron ore in the country which led to the beginning of the iron ore industry in Australia. After morning tea here, we continue along the Eyre Highway to Kimba, then Kyancutta to Wudinna, which is situated at the edge of the Gawler Ranges. After a stop for lunch, we continue to Poochara before travelling to Streaky Bay. Streaky Bay is a delightful coastal township situated on the Southern Ocean adjoining the Great Australian Bight. This evening, we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant.
❱ 1 night: Streaky Bay Hotel Motel
After breakfast today, a little time to enjoy a stroll around the Streaky Bay township before we enjoy a leisurely drive along the coastline taking us to Port Lincoln. Our first stop will be at the unique rock formation named Murphy’s Haystacks. The 1,600 million year old rocks are a landmark in the area. We continue to Port Kenny for a lunch stop before continuing East along the Peninsula to Port Lincoln for our two-night stay. Dinner this evening will be served at the hotel restaurant.
❱ 2 nights: Port Lincoln Hotel or Hilton Motel
Our day begins after breakfast with some free time for you to enjoy a little shopping or just sightseeing in the shopping precinct. Later, we tour to Mount Dutton Bay in the late morning. At Mount Dutton Bay, we experience an interesting tour of the Woolshed Museum, and we will be entertained with great stories and the history of this area while enjoying a delicious locally prepared lunch. After lunch, we travel back to Port Lincoln to join a cruise which begins in the sheltered waters of Boston Bay and sails through the canals of the Lincoln Cove Marina. The journey takes us to Port Lincoln National Park & Boston Island. Here you will enjoy the heart-warming sight of Sea Lions playing in the waters. We can also capture views of Port Lincoln that can only be seen from the ocean. During the cruise we have tastings of local prawns, mussels, tuna and kingfish. This evening we enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant.
This morning after an early breakfast we depart Port Lincoln to travel back to Adelaide via Port Augusta. At Tumby Bay, there is an opportunity to see some Silo Art! We continue to Port Augusta for a lunch break before arriving back in Adelaide in the late afternoon.
Adelaide travellers will be met on arrival at the Adelaide Central Bus Station and transferred home by chauffeured vehicle.
Stay the night on return to Adelaide and fly home the following day.
On our tour’s return to Adelaide, you will be taken to your hotel in the city centre. The next day, enjoy some time at leisure to explore Adelaide. Ask us about optional tours that are available today. Later, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight.
