Your adventure begins today with a flight from your homeport to Adelaide. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation in Adelaide’s city centre.

Dinner is not included tonight. However, you may choose to dine at the hotel or visit the Adelaide Casino, located just across the road from your hotel.

❱ Hotel stay: Mercure Grosvenor Hotel (6 nights)

Day 2 – Adelaide City Highlights (B)

Experience the cosmopolitan life of Adelaide on a half day tour, taking in the city’s main attractions and points of interest.

The coastal city of Adelaide is noted for its many festivals, its food, wine and culture and its long beach fronts. Discover superb architecture, cultural boulevards, surrounding park lands and wide streets and then you’ll appreciate why we have been ranked as one of the most liveable cities in the world.

After your tour, enjoy an afternoon at leisure in the city to explore more. We recommend taking a stroll down Rundle Mall or boarding the tram for a journey to the seaside suburb of Glenelg.

You may also wish to spend the afternoon exploring more of the city’s attractions. Visit the South Australian Museum & Art Gallery – both just a short walk from your hotel.

Alternatively, you may wish to visit the Adelaide Botanic Gardens or visit the pandas at the Adelaide Zoo (extra cost applies, contact us for details).

Day 3 – Adelaide Hills & Hahndorf (BA)

Tour the Adelaide Hills as you make your way to the historic German settlement of Hahndorf. The Adelaide Hills is home to the Mt Lofty Ranges, rolling vineyards, unspoiled bush land and rich farmland.

Drive past Bridgewater Mill water wheel and the villages of Crafers, Stirling & Aldgate. Stop at the Beerenberg Farm Shop before arriving in Hahndorf, where you will enjoy afternoon tea or beer tasting at the iconic Hahndorf Inn, rich in history and hospitality. Enjoy free time in Hahndorf wandering along the main street exploring many shops including art, craft, leather and fabric shops, butchers, bakers, cafés and of course pubs!

Day 4 – Gourmet Barossa Food & Wine Experience (BML)

Visit SA’s premium wine region – the Barossa Valley. First stop for today is TeAro Estate. Here, you’ll get a chance to visit the intimate Tasting Room in a heritage listed 1850’s barn. You will be treated to morning tea sourced from the local bakery and wine tastings while hearing stories from 4 generations of family vignerons.

The next stop is Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop – an absolute must whilst visiting the Barossa! Maggie Beer offers tastings and sales of her full range of delicious products including limited-edition seasonal produce. You can browse amongst her personally selected regional specialty goods, purchase one of her signed books or simply sit back & take in the views.

Continue to Angaston and visit Lambert Estate, where you will enjoy a structured wine tasting whilst sampling local seasonal produce from gourmet platters. Main course follows, and is a feast for the senses – with two signature dishes, salad and vegetables. You may wish to purchase a glass of wine from the impressive wine selection, or enjoy a coffee accompanied with their popular Chocolatier (Chocolate Port).

Take in the views from Mengler Hill Lookout before our final stop at Pindarie, a multi-tourism award winning cellar door which feels more like an Australian Homestead than a cellar door. Here, the friendly staff don’t just pour the wine; they share the stories behind the wines and Pindarie, a great way to finish off our Barossa Food & Wine Experience.

Return to Adelaide later this afternoon.

Day 5 – Day at leisure in Adelaide (B)

Enjoy a full day at leisure to discover more of the city of Adelaide. Ask us about a range of optional activities available today, including a tour to the McLaren Vale wine region, Adelaide Oval experiences or tours of the famous Adelaide Central Market.

Indulge in lunch as you cruise along the Murray River and gain an insight into this unique river system with its magnificent landscapes and stunning cliffs.

Later, take in the spectacular views and stop for a great photo opportunity at the lookout overlooking the township of Mannum. On the return journey to Adelaide, visit Melba’s Chocolate Factory for afternoon tea (own expense) and Woodside Cheese Wrights.

Ask your tour guide for suggestions for dinner tonight. Late night shopping (until 9pm) is also available in Adelaide’s city centre tonight.
