Your Sensational Sydney adventure begins today with a flight from your homeport to Sydney. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Park Royal Darling Harbour. This evening, dinner will be served in at the Park Royal restaurant.
❱ Hotel stay: Park Royal Darling Harbour (6 nights)
After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing experience into the pretty towns in the Blue Mountains. We tour via Richmond and Kurrajong to Mount Tomah. The Mount Tomah gardens are amazing and feature 28 hectares of magnificent colour with Protea, Cherry Blossom, Rhododendrons and Azaleas during the season. We enjoy morning tea here while taking in the views which extend up to 180 kilometres across the canyon.
Later at the beautiful township of Leura, possibly the best known in the mountains, we have time to stroll the attractive main street filled with antique stores, boutiques. You may wish to make a purchase from the famous Leura Candy Store. A special highlight is our visit to Bygone Beauties Treasured Teapot Museum & Tearooms where we learn all about the 5,500 teapots in an amazing collection from all over the world. We will also be served a delightful light lunch which includes old fashioned bread and butter pudding and of course a freshly brewed cup of tea or coffee.
We venture via Springwood, stopping to view one of the best know sights in the Blue Mountains, The Three Sisters! We continue our scenic tour into Sydney.
After breakfast this morning, we are picked up from our hotel to begin an entertaining city sights tour; this is a great way to take in many of Sydney’s great highlights all the way from the city to the sea.
We begin our tour will an interest packed Harbour Cruise where we learn all the stories about the beautiful Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Included during the cruise is a glass of sparkling wine; Vittoria coffee or a selection of fine teas; and Captains plated morning tea including a selection of cake, macaroons and cheeses.
Tour one of the world’s best cities and catch glimpses of life on our drive through the historic Rocks area, lively Chinatown, Darling Harbour, controversial Kings Cross, elegant Double Bay and enjoy views from Mrs Macquarie’s Chair.
This morning we set off early at 8am and travel south to enjoy a day at the spectacular 2019 Canberra Floriade. Our tour takes us to the historic town of Berrima situated in the Southern Highlands.
We continue to Canberra, Australia’s capital city. On our arrival we tour to Commonwealth Park where the annual Floriade is held each year. September is the perfect time to view the emerging display of nature’s colours and blooms at their very best with over one million blooms of Tulips, Daffodils, Iris, Hyacinth mixed with annuals like Poppies & Pansies.
Included in our sightseeing tour, we visit Parliament House and also Australian National Gallery where an exhibition of Andy Warhol artworks are on display.
After we visit Australia’s iconic War Museum for an interest packed tour before travelling back to Sydney. A brief stop for dinner is made enroute on our return to Sydney.
Today has been set aside for you to enjoy some private time, sightseeing or shopping. You may wish to take the opportunity to take a ferry trip across the Harbour to Manly for a stroll along the boardwalk to the famous Manly beaches. Your guide will help with any of your plans you may require.
Tonight, we transfer to Sydney Opera House to enjoy a sell-out production of West Side Story in dress circle seating. A story of two rival gangs in a version of Romeo & Juliet, this amazing musical has been a sell out in capital cities all over the world. It features popular music and amazing choreography.
This morning after breakfast we depart the city and tour North to Hornsby and Cowen to Brooklyn situated on the famous Hawkesbury River. Here we board the Last Riverboat Postman to cruise for 3 hours to deliver mail and other essential items to some of the isolated residents living along the pretty river. Along the way we stop at Dangar and Milson Islands, Kangaroo Point, Bar Point and Milsons Passage. Morning tea is served onboard as well as grandma’s famous Anzac biscuits! Later a Ploughman’s Lunch is served before we complete the wonderful outing.
On our return to Sydney, free time has been allowed to enjoy private sightseeing and shopping time.
Say farewell to your fellow travellers when your holiday comes to an end this morning after breakfast. You will be transferred to Sydney Airport in time for your flight home.
