Day 1 – Homeport to Auckland (D)

Your New Zealand adventure begins today with a flight from your homeport to Auckland, the ‘City of Sails’. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for your overnight stay. Tonight, meet your fellow travelers at a Welcome Dinner.

❱ Hotel stay: Rydges Auckland (2 nights)

Day 2 – Glenbrook Vintage Steam Train (B)

This morning, travel to Glenbrook and take a journey through the beautiful rural Franklin countryside. Stop at the Pukeoware Depot to explore the workshop, view other historic locomotives, and to enjoy morning tea. Re-board and travel back to Glenbrook before returning to Auckland by coach.

Day 3 – Auckland to Rotorua (BD)

After breakfast board your coach and head towards the Mamaku Ranges near Rotorua. In a hybrid vehicle, you will have a front row seat to the view of the spectacular ranges with an audio guide to educate you on the region as well. In Rotorua, visit Te Puia Cultural Centre, and tour the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute. This evening, enjoy a traditional Hangi Feast which includes a Maori cultural performance.

Day 4 – Rotorua (BD)

Rotorua captures the essence of New Zealand with its geothermal geysers, fascinating Maori culture and rich heritage. Your sightseeing continues with a visit to one of New Zealand’s best-loved attractions, the Agrodome, and then enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore further or simply relax.

Day 5 – Rotorua to Wellington (BD)

Travel by coach to Otorohanga, then board the Northern Explorer Train for a captivating journey. Continue through to Ohakune where you will travel by coach to Wellington.

Day 6 – Wellington (B)

After breakfast today, set off on a sightseeing tour of the city’s best-loved landmarks and sights, including New Zealand’s national museum – Te Papa Tongarewa. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the city. Perhaps get a panoramic view of the city and harbour at the Mount Victoria Lookout, or take a ride on the city’s iconic cable car from Lambton Quay up to Kelburn. Alternatively, just take a leisurely walk around the waterfront.

Day 7 – Wellington to Christchurch (BD)

This morning, step aboard the Interislander ferry to cruise from Wellington Harbour across the Cook Strait and through the natural beauty of the Marlborough and Queen Charlotte sounds to Picton. Re-board your coach to travel to the South Island’s largest city, Christchurch.

Day 8 – Christchurch to Fox Glacier (BD)

Board the renowned TranzAlpine train for what is considered to be one of the world’s greatest rail adventures. Along your journey, you will follow the Waimakariri River and travel across the magnificent Southern Alps within Arthur’s Pass National Park. Upon arrival at Greymouth, you will disembark and travel by coach to the spectacular Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers.

Day 9 – Fox Glacier to Queenstown (B)

Enjoy a day of truly beautiful scenery as you travel to the alpine resort of Queenstown. Known as the country’s ‘adventure capital’. Queenstown is also renowned for its world-class culinary scene. This evening you may like to sample some of the region’s fresh flavours at one of the many restaurants in walking distance from your hotel (own expense).

Day 10 – Queenstown (B)

Enjoy a day at leisure in Queenstown today to explore the town and experience some of the many activities on offer. Your tour guide will be happy to help you with booking any activities that you would like to join.

Day 11 – Queenstown to Te Anau via Milford Sound (BD)

Follow The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu to Fiordland National Park. Then, Cruise Milford Sound, a magnificent fiord with views of waterfalls, dense rainforest and sheer cliffs, and enjoy the on-board commentary that gives you detailed information on the region’s history, flora and fauna as you view spectacular waterfalls, towering mountains and wildlife.

Day 12 – Te Anau to Dunedin (BD)

Travel through the spectacular Southland countryside to Pukerangi where you will board the Taieri Gorge Railway, one of the world’s greatest train trips. The train snakes through incredible landscapes to the city of Dunedin.

Day 13 – Dunedin to Lake Tekapo via Mt Cook (BD)

Board the Seasider train for a journey along the edge of the Otago Harbour and along the Pacific Coast. Then, rejoin your coach to Oamaru. Journey north to view the unusual Moeraki Boulders before heading inland to the Aoraki Mt Cook National Park.

Day 14 – Lake Tekapo to Christchurch (BD)

Visit the tiny Church of the Good Shepherd. Located on the shores of Lake Tekapo, the Church of the Good Shepherd offers spectacular views of Lake Tekapo and the Mt Cook Region. Later, head back to Christchurch where you will enjoy a Farewell Dinner.

❱ Hotel stay: Commodore Hotel (1 night)

Day 15 – Christchurch to Homeport (B)

Your holiday concludes this morning. You’ll be transferred to Christchurch Airport for your onward flight back to Australia.
