Double & twin share prices include a stay onboard in a Gold Twin cabin with an ensuite. Single prices include a stay onboard in a Gold Single cabin with shared bathrooms at the end of each train car.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1 - Homeport to Darwin
Your holiday includes a flight from your homeport to Darwin in the Northern Territory. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure to explore the city of Darwin. You may wish to take a stroll to the nearby Mall or Esplanade.
3 nights: Doubletree by Hilton Darwin or similar
Day 2 - Darwin City Sights & Sunset Dinner Cruise (BD)
Discover the spectacular highlights of Darwin on an included City Tour. The tour will take you to the Botanic Gardens, Mindil Beach, Crocosaurus Cove, the Museum & Gallery of the Northern Territory, and the Darwin Military Museum. Later today, relax onboard the Charles Darwin as you watch an iconic Top End sunset whilst enjoying a delicious dinner. Indulge in a selection of Australian Seafood, Santa Maria Beef, Litchfield Mango Chicken, Reef Fish, and an array of salads & desserts.
Day 3 - Choice of included activities in Darwin (B)
Enjoy a choice of included activities for your day in Darwin. These activities must be prebooked at the time of booking to avoid missing out.
Kakadu: View the wildlife from a cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong before visiting the Warradjan Cultural Centre and the Nourlangie rock art site.
Litchfield: Take in the splendour of thundering falls, rainforest pockets & sacred sites. See the incredible works of local termites and take a dip at Florence Falls & Tolmer Falls.
Jumping Crocs: Cruise the river and watch these awesome creatures launch themselves out of the water. Stop at the Window on the Wetlands and Fogg Dam Nature Reserve to view a wetland ecosystem up close.
Day 4 - The Ghan Expedition, Darwin & Katherine (BLD)
Board the legendary Ghan train for your incredible one-of-a-kind 4-day train journey experience. A delicious lunch is served aboard as you begin your journey south towards Katherine where you will join one of the included off-train activities.
Nitmiluk Gorge Cruise: Cruise down Katherine River as the large rock formations of the Gorge tower over the calm water.
First Gorge Art Cruise: A more relaxed cruise experience showcasing the ancient secrets of the region as you gently cruise down the First Gorge.
Outback Experience: This unique tour by multiple Golden Guitar winner Tom Curtain celebrates life on the land through real horse-starting & working dog demonstrations entwined with live music and humorous tales.
Helicopter Flight ($120pp extra on the day): Fly over all 13 gorges - the best way to appreciate the complexity of the system that makes up Nitmiluk Gorge.
3 nights: The Ghan Expedition - Gold Twin or Gold Single Cabins
Day 5 - The Ghan Expedition, Alice Springs (BLD)
Wake up to a new view outside your window, in a world which feels like a million miles from home. After breakfast, enjoy a choice of included Off Train Excursions.
Alice Explorer: Visit the world’s largest classroom at School of the Air, then learn about the vital care provided by the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Spend some time at the National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame or the Reptile Centre before taking in the views from ANZAC Hill.
Desert Park Visit: Discover an inspiring portrayal of Australia’s desert environment that effortlessly blends the plants, animals, and people of the arid regions - with over 200 desert animals and 400 plants.
Simpsons Gap Walk: One of the most prominent gaps in the stunning West MacDonnell Ranges. It features a permanent waterhole, the towering cliffs of Simpsons Range and opportunities to spot wildlife.
Alice to Off Road Cycling: Start at the historic Old Telegraph Station before winding your way around the famous Todd River. Cycle along the ochre dirt to a picturesque spot in the sandy river with time to dig for water and soak in this amazing landscape.
Uluru Scenic Flight ($1,259pp extra on the day): Take in the spectacular outback scenery and vastness of Australia with a unique bird’s eye view Fly to Uluru for an immersive guided experience including a guided walk.
Come the evening you will dine beneath a canopy of stars at an authentic Outback Pioneer Dinner. This is a truly unique experience with live Australiana music and a feast of mouth-watering steak and traditionally made damper. After dessert, cast your eyes skyward and ponder life, the universe and everything with an informative astronomical talk. And with a full belly and deep sense of wonderment, it’s back on the train to rest up and roll out of Alice Springs, fulfilled in every sense of the word. There really is no better way to comprehend the vastness of the Territory.
Day 6 - The Ghan Expedition, Coober Pedy (BLD)
Wake up and rub your eyes with disbelief as we pull into Manguri. Join one of the included off-train activities to Coober Pedy or the majestic Breakaways.
Coober Pedy Explorer: Tour the unique town of Coober Pedy, visiting the Serbian Orthodox Church, Umoona Opal Mine, the grassless golf course & the Quest Opal Mine.
Opal Experience: Discover the beauty & history of Australia’s national gemstone at the Umoona Opal Mine, one of Coober Pedy’s original attractions.
Breakaways: This unique arid landscape changes colour with the passing of the sun creating an almost surreal panorama.
Day 7 - The Ghan Expedition, Adelaide (B)
Witness a dramatic change in landscape as the rich ochre tones of the Outback make way for the beautiful green fields of SA. On arrival, interstate travellers will be taken to the airport in time for their flight home. Your holiday includes a flight from Adelaide back to your homeport (as required).
