There’s plenty to see and do in Adelaide – why not take a tour of the famous Adelaide Oval, a stroll down Rundle Mall or take a short tram ride to the seaside suburb of Glenelg. Tonight, we recommend dining at one of the many restaurants in the city or in the seaside suburb of Glenelg.
❱ Hotel stay: The Chancellor on Currie or similar (1 night)
Your cruise holiday begins at Outer Harbor Cruise Terminal in Adelaide. Board your cruise and enjoy an afternoon at leisure onboard before indulging in dinner.
❱ Ocean cruise: Vasco da Gama (10 nights)
Enjoy a full day at sea to enjoy the many activities available onboard the Vasco da Gama.
Arrive in Hobart late this afternoon (about 5pm). Your ship will stay overnight in Hobart.
Tasmania’s capital has much in common with Sydney. Founded but a few years later, Hobart also owes its origins to the establishment of a penal colony – and its natural setting is just as impressive. Seen from its fine deep-water harbor, Hobart spills over the lower reaches of the Derwent Valley as Mt. Wellington towers in the background. Much of the city’s heritage is centered on the historic waterfront. North of the city stretches the vast parkland of the Queen’s Domain. Many of Tasmania’s other attractions are within easy reach of Hobart.
Celebrate Christmas Eve onboard the Vasco da Gama and enjoy a full day to explore the sights of Hobart, Tasmania.
Indulge in a special Christmas Day Lunch & Dinner onboard the Vasco da Gama as you sail back across from Tasmania to the mainland.
Take in the highlights of Phillip Island. Your ship will be docked here for the whole day, from 7am to 6pm. Later tonight, we will set sail for Melbourne.
Enjoy a full day to explore the beautiful city of Melbourne, Victoria.
Victoria may be Australia’s smallest continental state, but Melbourne, its capital, is big on everything. With a population of 4.25 million people living in 59 separately named communities within 715 square miles, Melbourne is a sprawling city offering culture, art, fashion and friendly, sports-minded Australians. It is also an easy city to explore. At the heart of the city is the Golden Mile, the city’s governmental and commercial center, home to hotels, shops, restaurants and theaters.
Spend a day in Burnie, Tasmania. Located on Bass Strait, Burnie is Tasmania’s fourth-largest city and a major port. Burnie, surrounded by prime productive farmlands is the gateway to scenic northwest Tasmania, an area rich in picturesque old villages, homesteads and historic homes. Inland lies the rainforest and wilderness of Cradle Mountain National Park, a World Heritage Site.
Discover Portland, the oldest European settlement in Victoria. Located on the far South West Coast of Victoria, Portland is a perfect holiday destination for all travellers!
Enjoy a full day at sea to experience all there is to do onboard the Vasco da Gama.
Sadly, today marks the end of your cruise holiday. Disembark at Outer Harbor Cruise Terminal after breakfast this morning.
You will be dropped off at your hotel in Adelaide at the end of your tour for your overnight stay. Celebrate the New Year in Adelaide! Watch the Adelaide city fireworks at Elder Park, just a short walk away from your hotel, or take the free tram service to the beautiful beachside suburb of Glenelg.
The next day, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Adelaide and South Australia. Ask us about optional tours that are available today including day tours to the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills or the McLaren Vale wine region. Alternatively, you may wish to take a stroll down Rundle Mall or visit the Adelaide Zoo and the Botanic Gardens. Later today, a chauffeured car will take you from your hotel to Adelaide Airport in time for your flight back to your homeport.
